The Pediatric Team Manager oversees the delivery of patient/family care across the life span (perinatal, pediatrics, and adults) in a defined geographic region. Oversees the day-to-day operations of pediatric and perinatal services. Applies concepts derived from management and communication theory, group dynamics, coaching/education methodologies and expert clinical judgment to ensure optimum quality of patient care and services. This role will report to the Sr. Director fo Clinical Services.

Salary: $128,000 - $145,000 Subject to experience and qualifications.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, on-call required.
Work Location: Escondido, CA
Travel: Travel required for supervisory patient visits. Occasional travel for educational purposes.
1. Assure compliance with all federal, state, and local health care regulations as they affect the provision of clinical services.
2. Monitors budget variances and is accountable for results.
3. Interviews, hires, reviews, and evaluates the performance of assigned clinical staff.
4. Supervises and evaluates the clinical practice and performance of the hospice team.
5. Participates in plan of care decisions and keeps informed of treatment and management plans for patients and their caregivers.
6. Supervises the planning, coordination, and delivery of patient/family care for pediatric and perinatal patients.
7. Facilitates Interdisciplinary Group meetings.
8. Supports same day admission and registration visits in collaboration with the Admissions Dept.
9. Establishes and nurtures relationships within community skilled facilities, RCFEs, physician groups, and pediatric providers as well as pediatric hospitals and other healthcare professionals.
10. Assigns newly admitted patients.
11. Supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of patient/family care in the absence of other Team Managers.
12. Collaborates with the Quality and Compliance Department to investigate and resolve quality concerns and participates in the Hospice’s plan for Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement. Collaborates with interdepartmental managers to assess deficiencies and determine process improvement needed.
13. Monitors utilization of personnel, coordinates follow-up of employees involved in workman’s compensation in collaboration with HR.
14. Participates in agency on call procedures.
15. Collaborates with Sr. Director of Clinical Services and Chief Medical Officer on program development and infrastructure issues regarding pediatric/perinatal services.
16. Responsible for project development, implementation, and evaluation as directed.
1. Bachelor’s in Nursing Degree required; 3+ years healthcare management experience with 2 years hospice supervisory responsibilities preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Requires knowledge of hospice care, the dying and bereavement process and demonstrated clinical expertise in triaging crises. Must have had at least two years of hospice nursing in the past five years.
3. Minimum of three years acute or hospice pediatric experience.
4. Current CPR certification and negative TB skin test.
5. Current CA RN licensure required.
6. Certification in hospice preferred, other leadership certifications considered.
7. Proficient in electronic documentation and basic computer skills (Word processing, Data Entry, Outlook, Word)
8. Current California driver’s license with proof of auto insurance required.
