     Since 1978, The Elizabeth Hospice has been at the forefront of providing exceptional hospice and palliative care, end-of-life home care, and comprehensive counseling options for all ages in San Diego County. A pioneer in the hospice and palliative care movement, The Elizabeth Hospice is the most experienced and largest nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider in the region, serving children and adults, and their families, impacted by illness, grief and loss, throughout communities within San Diego and the Inland Empire. In our 39-year history, we are honored to have earned the community’s trust as a respected nonprofit healthcare leader.



    The Center for Compassionate Care of The Elizabeth Hospice is currently offering a limited number of internships to Post-Graduate Interns (Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Interns, Professional Clinical Counselor Interns, and Associate Clinical Social Workers.) Therapists help change lives providing individual and group counseling to adults and children as well as those who are coping with a life threatening or serious illness.   Training, education, and clinical supervision are provided by our supportive team of licensed professionals.

    These are volunteer positions, requiring a 12- 18 month commitment with a minimum of 20 hours/week (minimum of one evening per week).


    The geographic service area for this opportunity is North County San Diego (Inland/Coastal), Mission Valley (San Diego - Central)  and Temecula/South Riverside.


    1. Masters Degree and Current Registration with BBS (Associate MFT, Associate SW, or Associate PCC ASW)
    2. Current California driver’s license with proof of insurance required
